After years apart, the star-crossed lovers find that every path they take will lead them back together
Plot
Clotaire, a rebellious local teenager, falls in love with his classmate Jackie, but gang violence takes him down a darker and more destructive path. Malik Frikah, who plays 17-year-old Clotaire in the film, was a world breakdance champion when he was 10 years old. One of the characters wears a ceramic Rolex Daytona in the 1990s, but the watch was only released in 2016.

I was so excited to see this movie directed by Gilles Lellouch starring Adele Exarchopoulos and Francois Civil which I really enjoyed. All the ingredients are there to create a French Bockbuster, but they fail. The first part is too long to tell about their young life and love.
After a while we wonder if we have entered the wrong screening room
We’re also getting frustrated that we haven’t seen anything from Adele and Francois after an hour. If this long first part was intentional, the film should have been released in 2 versions. Because I think even though it was too long, it was a good release.
As for the ending, it was too easy
The second part of their adult life is in many ways not believable and not exciting enough. I found the adaptation of the script quite weak. I also felt no connection to this reunion romance.
It’s a shame because I feel like we missed an opportunity to have a great movie
Kudos to Mallory Wanecque as Jackie and Malik Frikah as Clotaire Young who give a great performance.
