As a woman searches for the remains of her grandfather’s father and uncovers the story of an idealistic young teacher from Tarragona, buried memories of the Spanish Civil War are revealed. Nana was created by Manuel de Falla. It’s too hard for me to add anything else to emit1717’s post, which did a great job. My thoughts are with him and mine. I saw this film today at a new palace complex in Sydney, with less than 10 people in attendance! It was hard to dry my eyes with sadness, but also with joy at seeing such a work. Oh, I need twice as many characters! As a French child, I was fluent in Spanish, so I also enjoyed the language, which was not fast and clear enough to learn a little without reading subtitles! So if ‘you’re also learning Spanish, this might be another reason to see this wonderful story, which I understand is also a true story.
