A modern-day story about making it big in the world of West Texas oil rigs

A landman, at least one who works in the oil industry, will act as a go-between for exploration companies and landowners. Typically, a landman’s job is to negotiate and finalize agreements with landowners who have mineral rights to lease those rights to the company they represent.

They essentially manage the land and secure leases to drill for oil and gas. As a foreman on a construction site, especially in remote areas, they build roads, worker housing (the human camp), set up drilling equipment, and drill the well itself. They are also fixers, problem solvers, and enablers.
Landman is another Taylor Sheridan hit in a long line of them
It has everything you want from a good series, lots of drama, action, twists, even a little comedy, etc. Obviously, it’s beautifully written, like everything Sheridan does, but it also has an amazing cast. It stars the incredible Billy Bob Thornton, Jon Hamm, Ali Larter, Demi Moore, and more.
The same goes for Hamm
Billy Bob Thornton was born to play this role, he’s absolutely terrible here. I’d be shocked if he wasn’t nominated for an Emmy for his performance here. It’s not only beautifully written and acted, it’s beautifully filmed.
Sheridan has so many great performances, and Landman is one of the best of them
It feels like it’s going to last a long time, and I’m here to make it happen.
