He’s smart
He’s adorable. He’s Dexter Morgan, America’s favorite serial killer, who spends his days solving crimes and his nights committing them. During the eighth season, Angel Batista wasn’t always played by David Zayas.
His son David Zayas Jr
replaces his father in some scenes, as the two look remarkably alike. Visible throughout the first season, Dexter has a large scar on his left side. Later in season 2, the scar moved to the right side, leaving the left side intact.

Absolutely brilliant. The visual contrast between the darkness of Dexter’s secret life and the brightness of Miami adds an almost surreal quality. The character development is just perfect, slowly letting the background emerge so you can see the development of Dexter’s sociopathic personality and his confusion of human behavior in comparison to his own.
The developers of this series should also look to Andrew Vachss’ books
Dexter is an actor in his own life; his relationships with co-workers and his personal life are well shown in the video media. His being a blood spatter expert is a dark work, but set in the bizarre world of Miami life, it is almost believable.
